Hence, it’s time to become the number one airline in the world. Train your skills and show the Airline CEO that you can be a disruptive challenger.

Deep Simulation Game

Further, don’t be fooled by the mobile platform because Airlines Manager is a proven, additionally, real super-deep simulation game. There’s firstly a lot of numbers and secondly logistics to take care of here. In 2020,  Playrion Game Studio, founded in 2010 to support the development of Airlines Manager, joins Paradox Interactive as its eighth internal studio.

Airlines Manager - Developers

Overall, the developers of Playrion from France known above all for their economic simulations. Indeed, they are among the market leaders in this genre and maintain their flagship very well.

As a result of the Airlines Manager Professional success, they have now thoroughly revised their game, which entered the gaming stage for the first time in 2007.

Presently, the Airlines Manager 2019 is available for download in the App Store for some time. Hence, the installation is free of charge and finances itself over additional In-App purchases.

Start with optimized short-haul flights

So, when it comes to buying new aircraft, you have three different options. Firstly SH or short-haul, secondly MH or medium-haul and thirdly LH or long-haul. Hence, as you can probably guess, these refer to the distance that these planes are best suited for travelling.

Notwithstanding, longer flights require a lot of planning and are usually more expensive than shorter trips, which generally means that they are also much riskier.

Lease your plane

Another essential aspect when buying aircraft is the option to purchase or lease. Again, this usually only applies to the early stages of the game, but leasing is almost always the better option between developed countries. However, if you lease an aircraft, you can use it as delivered, but you cannot customise the interior settings. So you might not be able to optimize the schedule to the limit, but again – it is more or less already optimized for developed countries (i.e. Africa and leasing is not a good match, due to high economy demand and less business-/first-class).

Moreover, with leasing you don’t have to pay the full price in advance, but you have to pay the deposit and weekly rent. So, if you deviate from our previous tip, you should be able to cover the costs to make a net profit.

Airlines Manager's Agenda!

Thereupon, the Airlines Manager Professional is deceiving about the depth it has, so you will sometimes find yourself lost. Hence, if you’re not sure what to do next, always read on to your schedule. Moreover, the plan also serves as a “to-do list,” as it will show you what you should be working toward next. Finally, you’ll even get sweet rewards for completion.

Airline Employees

It is important that staff are properly recruited and not on a temporary basis. This costs more and is less efficient. Also make sure that staff are balanced across the different hierarchical levels.

Strategy, Tips, Cheats for Airlines Manager

As soon as you earn enough money, you can take the following tips and tricks with you to become a Top 1,000 Airlines Manager over time.

  1. Best Hubs

  2. High Income

The economy class used in Emerging Market regions is preferred, whereas always pay attention to the cargo possibilities – good money and increases quickly. In our case, this is CGK – Jakarta – Soekarno Hatta International Airport to CMN – Casablanca – Mohammed V International Airport. We serve the route as part of a 168-hours week schedule resulting in 63 weekly flights using the Airbus A380-800 model with a 372 (341/25/6) 51T configuration.

Whooping weekly results: 43,092 Pax in Economy-, 2,569 Pax in Business-, 476 Pax First-Class, and an insane 5,747 T of Cargo. Or, in financial terms, generating a gross profit of 51,219,545/day or 292,902,743 net profit a week.

  1. Aircraft Type

Buy fewer aircraft types, making replacement/rescheduling easier. The Airbus A380-800 is undoubtedly one of the more efficient aircraft, whereas some competitors go with the Boeing 747-200B. However, I want to have a modern looking airline., so most of the jets we own are 747-300, followed by the Airbus A380-800. You might also buy some ultra long-haul planes, such as the old Airbus A340-500 or its successor Airbus A350-1000, to make an efficient 168-hours schedule with as little as possible destinations.
Don’t forget to look at the DC8-73, which can for instance do SIN-ZRH in exactly 24 hours. Owning the supersonic airlines Concorde from  Aèrospatiale/BAC is fun, but costly and inefficient.

Further important Airlines Manager Tips, Cheats & Guide

  1. Round-Trips

12h and 24h respectively 24h combinations are simple aircraft uses, whereby the longer the route, the more income and less Airport cost. Therefore a Boeing 747-400ERF carrying just cargo can be used in parallel on a 12h trip. However, we often schedule long-distance flight (35h), meaning that we combine them to make even weekly schedules. The tricky part is to schedule the planes in such a way that the daily demand decreases linear, meaning that the demand remains on each day the same.
  2. 2200 – 2400 hours Trips

At a later stage, we started selecting only one country, but flying to all available airports. For instance, we fly from ICN to Europe (France and Spain) and the USA. For each country, 100+ aircraft can be ordered in the same configuration. This way, we achieve almost 2 billion in revenues by covering only three countries.
  3. Weekly Scheduling

It is recommended to use this source provided by Playrion for Airlines Manager. You can quickly discover flight distances, flight times and other information such as the category availability: Destination Finder.
  4. Microsoft Excel
We usually use a simple Excel spreadsheet to plan 168-hours week trips and select seven similar destinations. You find them mostly in the same region or even better in the same country. How it works: You add in a table the number of economy-, business- and first-class passengers besides the cargo. You divide the number by two (each leg). Afterwards you play around with the number of planes required. You might want to keep the app airlines manager open to see which jet configuration comes closest. If there isn’t a perfect match, then leave a slightly higher number for cargo, since as previously mentioned, I have the impression than cargo increases faster than passengers (especially, when you allocate workforce). Keep in mind that it works best within the same country, since most likely the ratio between the passenger types remain the same.
  5. Ultra Long Haul Trips
We own a few Airbus 340-500 and use them on 168-hours matching 5-days long-haul trips. Maybe just an impression, but these flights earn a lot (fewer airport fees). Nevertheless, that approach is very time consuming and you always have some destinations, which will be over- or under-served.
  6. Again – Same Countries
Usually, cities within one country have similar passenger numbers. This makes it easier to mix the flights if you are on a 168-hours schedule with different destinations.
It is a real time game. You can only do as much as you can afford. Scheduling 300+ airplanes take time, so be patient and do it step by step, which will also have a positive side effect on your daily earnings.
